Tips and Tricks: ---------------- Did you know, that the vicinity server can be operated remotely via the built-in maintenance interface: http://your.cobrow.server:cobrow-port/sys/ui (cobrow-port is 4145 by default). Did you know that you can change the password of the maintenance interface ? Change the Vici password parameter in the vicinity server configuration file: $COBROW_HOME/vici/cbVici.conf. The distribution comes with a user:password combination set to 'cobrow:secret'. You can change user and password to whatever you like, but keep the ':', and do not insert white spaces. Did you know, that you can avoid applet insertion into specific pages ? Add a 'cobrow=ignore' attribute to the -tag of the page. Did you know, that you can protect sub-trees of your web site from applet insertion ? Add the path to protect to the AppletExcludePath parameter in the cobrow filter configuration file $COBROW_HOME/cofi/CoBrowFilter.cfg. Restart the WWW publishing service (Windows) or 'kill -1' cbFilter (Unix). Did you know that you can supply your own default icon for new users ? Enable the 'properties' in the directory pointed to by the Vici parameter DefaultInfoURLBase (Unix: $COBROW_HOME/htdocs/system/defaults/, Windows: $COBROW_HOME/wwwroot/system/defaults/), i.e. rename the file 'properties.disabled' to 'properties'. Then move the new icon into the same directory (filename icon.gif). BTW: the icon will be displayed at 32x32 pixel.
